Dear Scott, Turpentine Creek is absolutely incredible to visit on the beautiful fall days. I've been working at the refuge since 1994 and it still astounds me how the weather changes everything. The animals are all up and playing, enjoying the cooler temps. The people, both workers and visitors, all are much more smiley. It just brings out the best in the animals and the people. Hands down, the next 8 weeks will be the best of the year! Make your plans now. Rooms are filling up on weekends so book yours today!

Cat of the Week - Ringo
Ringo was brought to Turpentine Creek from Springfield, MO, by his previous owner. Ringo was given to them to care for by his first owner who never returned to claim his little 'pet' from his friends. After seeing multiple news reports on tiger attacks, including the one on star cat-handler Roy Horn, the couple he was given to realized that Ringo would be too much to handle when he reached maturity. They wisely decided to bring the young tiger to TCWR, tearfully asking us to take care of their little friend. He was only 4.5 months old upon arrival. Here is a little baby shot of Ringo!
