Sincerely, Scott Smith Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge   Cat of the Week - Sammy and Buckley   Turpentine Creek rescued Buckley Butterfield and Sammy when they were only six weeks old along with his brother, Sammy, and eight other Big Cats from a farm.  The Boone County Sheriff's Department was confiscating the cats. All nine cats were found in a single horse trailer. Buckley and Sammy were in the back compartment with their mother, Trish.  She was taking care of the one month old so they were healthy, but she was thin and weak.  Buckley makes a very unique noise.  It is a combination of a wail and a moan and can be distinguished from all the other tiger vocalizations.  Late in the afternoon he will make this noise to carol along with the roaring lions.
